Amy & Michael | Whimsical Woodland Garden Inspired Blush + Mauve Wedding at Ewing Manor and The Marriott in Bloomington-Normal, IL

October 2023

Amy and Michael had a unique vision for their wedding day with shades of pinks, mauve, blush, purple, and burgundy and design inspired by nature. Amy’s lush, whimsical bouquet featured blooms of large pink dahlias, amnesia roses, ranunculus, and tulips with textural accents of lisianthus, clematis, astilbe, scabiosa, gomphrena, astilbe, and wax flower. Smaller, coordinating bridesmaid bouquets complimented their various shades of mauve dresses while pink ranunculus boutonnieres popped off the collars of the  groom and groomsmen.

The wedding ceremony took place on the beautiful back lawn of Ewing Manor. Two large ground floral arrangements welcomed guests as they entered and small bouquets of lavender and blush roses with greenery lined the aisle chairs on the way to the altar. The main attraction was the hexagon arbor at the top of the stairs which was draped with pink and blush linens and decorated with a large, ornate floral spray for the couple to stand in front of while they exchanged vows.

Entering the reception space was just as magical as walking through an enchanted forest. Aisle clusters were repurposed as cocktail table centerpieces and the ceremony ground arrangements led through to a twinkling greenery tunnel to enter the ballroom. Flowers filled the space on every table and hung above the dancefloor on a large greenery wreath. Birch stumps with floral arrangements on top served as one style of centerpieces on a bed of soft moss. Handcrafted trees were made to serve as the second centerpiece style with fresh and silk blooms among the branches and crystals hanging down with tea lights for a whimsical glow. The base of the trees were covered with a garden inspired arrangement over a bed of moss and small votives were added at each table to complete the woodland charm.

The couple rightfully stole the show with their moss covered sweetheart table with large floral arrangements on both the table and the floor in front and surrounded by romantic candle light. Hanging branches suspended blooms behind the sweetheart table over a wall of twinkling lights for a radiant backdrop.

Amy and Michael’s wedding was packed with beautiful flowers and it was a joy to design and create these one of a kind pieces. Thank you for trusting J.Blu with your whimsical woodland wedding vision. Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs.!
