Jessica & Bodee | Rustic, Earth Toned Summer Wedding at Tree Lane Farm in El Paso, IL and Reception at The Water Tower in Gridley, IL

August 2023

Part of a florist’s job is finding the right flowers that reflect the couple and their personal wedding style. For Jessie and Bodee, that meant lots of textural elements and warm neutral blooms for their rustic summer wedding at the Bodee’s family farm. In Jessie’s bridal bouquet, we chose lush quicksand, toffee, and moab roses for the base and added textural pieces of lisianthus, scabiosa pods, calcynia, knife blade acacia, dried grasses, and bunny tail for that rustic, farm feel. Bridesmaids held smaller bouquets of the same flowers that complimented each dress that were all shades of the same neutral color. Flowers are a great way to pull together maids dressed in different colors and the entire wedding party for a cohesive design. Bodee pinned a matching, equally textural, white rose boutonniere onto his light grey suit. Lastly, we handcrafted a simple, white spray rose flower girl halo specially for the smallest member of the wedding party.

Jessie and Bodee exchanged vows in a stunner of an intimate ceremony by the pond at Tree Lane Farm. Two wine barrels were set at the back of the aisle with large floral arrangements placed on top leading the way down to the altar. A beautiful, large arbor backdrop met the wedding party at the altar adorned with a large corner floral spray and upright spray filled with earth tones of blush, white, and neutral blooms with heavy ruscus, huckleberry, and acacia greenery.

After the ‘I do’s’, the party was moved to The Water Tower for the reception. Long tables filled the reception space with alternating table runners of greenery and bud vase arrangements filled with scabiosa pods, toffee, sahara, and quicksand roses, lisianthus, ranunculus, carnations, and grasses. Each style was complimented with an abundance of votive candles in clear holders for a romantic glow throughout the evening. The real showstopper was, rightfully so, the head table arrangement placed in front of the couple underneath a personalized farm sign the Schlipf family is known for making. A perfect detail for a rustic farm wedding!

Being personally involved in the cattle industry before starting my business, weddings like these hold a special place in my heart. We loved being chosen to play a part in Jessie and Bodee’s special day. Congrats to the new, Mr. and Mrs. Schlipf!
