Mackenzie and Parker chose a color palette full of soft blushes, earth tones, and minimal greenery perfect for their early Fall boho wedding at Parker Run Vineyard in New Windsor, Illinois. For Mackenzie’s bouquet, we started with a base of blush mums, quicksand and sahara roses and added in neutral textural elements of scabiosa pods, babies breath, bleached ruscus, bunny tail, and dried grasses for a natural boho effect with touches of contrasting eucalyptus and olive greenery. Parker adorned an equally textural blush and orange boutonniere featuring blooms of strawflower with babies breath, bunny tail, explosion grass and greens all tied together with a white ribbon to compliment his bride. Maids and groomsmen held and pinned on smaller versions of the couples bouquet and boutonniere to pop off mauve dresses and ties.
Guests were welcomed to the outdoor ceremony with a glass welcome sign with a large neutral floral spray on top. Duel antique milk jugs topped with floral arrangements were set at the back of the aisle leading way to the altar. The couple exchanged their vows in front of a simple wooden arbor adorned with two floral sprays filled with light blush roses, mums, and carnations with large flowing pampas grass and a greenery base. All three ceremony pieces were later moved into the reception space with the arbor pulling double duty as the wedding party table backdrop. The remaining guest tables had simple bud vase trio centerpieces filled with pink mums, strawflower, roses, and nigella pods accented with touches of greenery and dried grasses to compliment the vineyard’s rustic barn reception atmosphere. Lastly, we added white votive candles in clear holders to each table to bring a warm glow that lasted the entire evening.
A classic blush color palette full of neutral textures was a joy to design and perfect for this rustic late summer wedding. We are so grateful Mackenzie and Parker chose us to create something special for their special day and wish all the best to the new Mr. and Mrs. Johnston!
“I can’t say enough good things about Julie and her work. From the first initial meeting Julie was so helpful, kind, caring, and full of ideas. Julie wasn’t there to just put flowers together. She listened to what I had in mind, brought my vision to life, thoroughly planned everything out, and after our first initial meeting, was quick to send me a proposal board. Once we decided on flowers and came up with a game plan, Julie still kept in touch with me throughout the wedding planning process. The week of the wedding Julie sent me sneak peaks of flowers and the day before sent photos of a few of our arrangements. The morning of the wedding, Julie took time out of her very busy day to reach out and wish me the best on that day – to me, that truly meant a lot and I felt more like family than just a client. I am still in such awe of the amazing work, creativity, and passion Julie provided and I can not recommend or thank her enough!”
