Another beautiful winter day brought us down to The Crowne Plaza in Springfield for a fun, classic wedding for high school sweethearts, Megan and Jesus. During planning, Megan gravitated toward a deep burgundy, mauve, red, and blush toned color palette, perfect for those chilly season weddings. We designed Megan’s bouquet full of lush quicksand, amnesia, and bright red heart roses with accents of burgundy ranunculus, hypericum berry, astrantia, and white spray roses for added depth. For even more texture and interest, we combined a variety of greens including ruscus, agonis, grevillea, and smokebush all hand-tied with an elegant burgundy satin ribbon. The six bridesmaids held smaller versions of the same bouquet, sans red heart roses, for an overall more mauve centered bouquet to compliment their long, maroon gowns. Jesus and his groomsmen adorned classic, traditional style burgundy ranunculus boutonnieres on deep navy suits to match the bride and her maids.
Megan and Jesus’ ballroom ceremony was filled with high impact florals. Directly behind the innermost guest chairs, we placed two large, symmetrical arrangements atop tall gold stands with a base of romantic pillar candles leading way down the floral lined aisle. The highlight however, was the gold cathedral arch set from A. Hunt Design that served as a unique backdrop while the couple exchanged their vows. We added coordinating blooms to one full side of the main arch and complimentary spray arrangements on the side panels to engulf the stage with lush, fresh flowers. All ceremony pieces were used again with tall arrangements being moved to top reception guest tables, the main arch being set behind the wedding party table, and the side panel sprays were removed and set on and in front of the head table paired with candles and a greenery table edge runner.
In the adjacent ballroom, we designed a dynamic combination of floral and candle guest table centerpieces for the wedding reception. Style one boasted the same tall gold stand arrangements from the ceremony scattered around the room, highlighting the ballroom’s tall, lit ceilings. We paired the stands with a base of greenery and cut blooms with dual maroon taper candles and an abundance of votives to add a touch of romantic candlelight glow. Style two featured the same blush and burgundy textural blooms in an elegant gold compote bowl arrangement in the center of round tables surrounded by five votive candles in delicate etched glass holders. Burgundy taper candles in an assortment of gold holders in elegant glass chimneys were the spotlight of the third centerpiece style with twin petite flower arrangements and a trio of votives. Our final centerpiece focused on a tasteful gold geometric lantern with a greenery wreath encircling the bottom with accents of blush, mauve, and red roses to round out the romantic reception décor.
A glamorous wedding like this one wouldn’t be complete without a remarkable cake. I Do Wedding Cakes created a stunning four tier white textured cake for Megan and Jesus which we topped with lush blooms and greenery for a floral accent to match the rest of the couples flower packed day. It was an absolute honor to be a part of this couple’s long history and we wish you a lifetime of happiness. Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Nava!
“Julie is SO AMAZING. I could go on and on for hours about how good she is at her job. If I could give her more than a 5 star, I would! She is truly way more than a florist. She will help you plan a lot of your decorations as well. I knew from our very first meeting that I would be so happy with her work. She takes her time and really finds out what exactly you are wanting at your wedding. I came into the meeting with only one idea in my head and was unsure of the rest, Julie helped me sit down and look at other ideas for centerpieces as well as backdrops for the ceremony. Her eye for little details and how much she truly cares about her customer, is the best I have ever seen! She will even come and tear down at the end of the night and put all your flowers in plastic containers for you and guests to take home. Thank you so much J.Blu Design for all your help and I couldn’t have been happier with your work. Besides getting married obviously, the florals were one of my favorite parts of the day! The pictures really do speak for themselves!”
