February 2024
We are back again in the freshly updated ballroom space at Pear Tree Estate in Champaign, Illinois for the first 2024 couples tasting event. Each year, Pear Tree hosts upcoming clients to a full mock wedding tasting event where couples get to feel out the venue in all its beauty, taste and pick their menu from LA Gourmet Catering, and get to see first-hand work from the finest vendors on Pear Tree Estate’s recommended vendor list. This year, we were asked to design a soft and romantic cream, yellow, and blush spring wedding featuring yellow and blush shades of roses, gerbera daisies, daffodils, ranunculus, and tulips with elegant gold accents.
We begin our design with an intimate indoor wedding ceremony setup facing a beautiful fireplace backdrop. We lined the aisle with whimsical floral island arrangements featuring tall, white larkspur blooms leading way to a large floral piece draping over the wooden beam mantle to pop off the light colored stone fireplace to accompany the bride and groom. We love repurposing ceremony flowers elsewhere if possible after the exchange of vows. In this case, we moved the six floor pieces to the foyer to sit in front of the large wood panel wall with a hand-lettered seating chart on large mirrors attached. The arrangements were paired with a variety of different height glass cylinders filled with white candle sand for an elegant and romantic effect.
Our bride stunned in soft and romantic wedding gowns from Elite Bridal to pair with a classic black tuxedo for the groom. Rachel, our bride for the day, carried a lush bridal bouquet filled with blush quicksand, creamy yellow, and fragrant garden roses with accents of light yellow gerbera daisies, ranunculus, snapdragons and minimal greenery all hand-tied together in an organic and romantic shape. Our groom pinned on a coordinating, traditional style, light yellow boutonniere with small buds and greenery tied with light pink silk ribbon to match his bride.
As guests filled into the ballroom reception space, they were met with bright and cheery floral centerpieces. For long farmhouse tables, we created a single lush floral arrangement in a long rectangle shallow vase to sit in the center paired on either side with miniature gold lamps, gold votive candles and a pair of bud vase arrangements on the end to create a unique, eye-catching table runner. Round tables topped with textured white linens were adorned with a newly popular style trend of a trio of arrangements with each vase filled with blooms of the same kind and color of flower. These ‘en masse’ arrangements of reflexed roses, tulips, daisies, daffodils, larkspur, and ranunculus were paired with an abundance of cream colored taper and votive candles in gold holders to fill the center of the tables. Although we are loving this new, elegant style of centerpieces, the real highlight was the custom made iron frame hanging floral chandeliers over the round guest tables. We hung these pieces a little lower than the typical chandelier height to bring the greenery and flowers closer to the guests, creating an intimate dining experience. Lastly, we lined the front edge of the head table in a simple design of alternating taper and votive candles in gold holders with light greenery intertwined.
Pear Tree Estate’s renovated space is the perfect canvas for any wedding and we love any chance we get to showcase new designs in their space and collaborate with other gifted vendors. These beautiful iron frames, candlesticks, votive holders, and vases are ready to be filled in our inventory.
