Shannon & Brian | Rustic Orange and Neutral Fall Wedding at Epiphany Farms Estate in Downs, IL

October 2024

The temperatures are falling again in Central Illinois, bringing back all the colors and textures the new season brings. The epitome of a classic fall wedding, and one of our last years favorites, was Shannon and Brian’s orange and green late October wedding at the gorgeous Epiphany Farms Estate in Downs, Illinois. We designed a large bouquet for Shannon featuring fall favorites of different shades of orange mums, strawflower, roses, ranunculus, amaranth, scabiosa pods, and hypericum berry with accenting textural greens of Israeli ruscus, grevillea, and feather eucalyptus. Maids in shades of orange held petite versions of the same bouquet while Brian and his groomsmen adorned traditional style orange ranunculus boutonnieres on unique earthy dark green suits. We of course always love to honor the mothers of the bride and groom with coordinating metal cuff corsages to round out the wedding party.

Shannon and Brian’s outdoor ceremony was accented beautifully by the harvest tones of the vineyard backdrop in bright yellow and oranges. We complimented the landscape with dual wine barrel floral toppers at the back of the aisle that then directed the guests’ gaze to a large wooden arch at the altar. The couple exchanged their vows under magnificent arbor sprays filled with bright mums, muted roses, carnations, and strawflower blooms with textural elements of scabiosa pods, hypericum berry, amaranth and other trailing greens for an organic and natural feeling design.

We finished our work inside the rustic, yet sophisticated barn reception space studded with floral sprays on the hexagon head table backdrop arch, above the bar, on the head table, and on the restroom wagon wheel. Simple bud vase arrangements added pops of color to cocktail and miscellaneous tables around the reception area. Guest tables were topped with a thick runner of a variety of greens paired with romantic lanterns and candles for an effortless look that made room for and highlighted Epiphany Farm’s mouthwatering Farm-to-Table family style dishes. Lastly we garnished the couple’s petite cutting cake from Sugar Mama Bakery with bright and fresh blooms partnered with a family name wooden cake topper as a final floral touch.

It’s hard to compete with the natural beauty that an Illinois fall season brings which is why we love designing to enhance the already delightful atmosphere of the season and venue. Epiphany Farms Estate was the perfect backdrop for a classic, fall wedding well done. Thanks Shannon and Brian for trusting us with your vision! Congratulations and happy almost one year anniversary to The Dillows!
