While we love the timeless elegance of classic designs and all white weddings, there’s something undeniably magical about a spring wedding in full bloom that embraces the season’s natural palette of buttery yellows and soft pinks set beneath a warm, light-blue sky. Alyssa and Charlie’s garden-party inspired wedding felt like stepping into a real-life fairytale, overflowing with fresh, premium, colorful blooms. Alyssa’s hand-tied bouquet was composed of large poppies, blush quicksand roses, peachy ranunculus, blue delphinium, and pink peonies with light and airy accents of delicate purple sweet pea, white orlaya, and dainy feverfew. Smaller versions of the same bouquet paired perfectly with the bridesmaids light blue, and floral patterned gowns. Charlie and the most adorable ring bearer pinned on traditional style peach ranunculus and spray rose boutonnieres to add simple, yet bold touches of color to dark navy suits. The smallest member of the wedding party didn’t go unnoticed as the flower girl had her time to shine down the aisle carrying her own basket overflowing with lush blooms.
Even small details can allow your wedding story to flow effortlessly from ceremony to reception. For the couple’s traditional church wedding, we brought in pops of color with fresh blush rose clusters tied with blue silk ribbon to pews that lined the aisle. We accentuated the already exquisite altar with a large ground arrangement filled heavily with lush colorful blooms that seemed to radiate the spring season throughout the church. This piece and blossoming garden inspired design followed the couple back to the reception space at Haven on the Farm to sit in front of the newlyweds at the head table.
To further highlight the bride and groom, we dressed their long farmhouse style head table with a trailing edge of greens paired with romantic blue and clear glass etched votives. An antique mirror seating chart led guests into the reception barn that was filled with an assortment of round tables with white and blue floral linens and earthy farmhouse tables. We topped these tables with an array of styles of centerpieces which included various combinations of petite flower arrangements in milky white vases, larger, moss-covered growing gardens paired with floating candles, light and airy shallow bowl pieces, and blue taper candles in antique gold holders that set a romantic glow across the entire space. All together, the scene was that of a breathtaking living garden bathed in light on a sunny, blue sky spring day.
During the cold winter months of Central Illinois, it’s easy to look back to the celebrations filled with color to bring joy to grey filled days. We look forward to spring that is just around the corner and all the new creative ways we are inspired to design for the season ahead. Thank you Alyssa and Charlie for your beautiful vision and for choosing J.Blu to play a small part in your lifelong story!
