June 2023
Blakely and Kristian’s summer wedding was filled with light and airy white blooms with hints of light blue and textural greenery. After some unexpected health issues, the couple decided on a small and intimate wedding at their catholic church followed by a simple backyard reception for very close family and friends. For Blakely, we created a flowy, all white garden inspired bouquet featuring scabiosa, ranunculus, agapanthus, queen anne’s lace, feverfew and limonium with touches of Italian ruscus greenery and textural pennycress. The groom matched with a classic white ranunculus boutonniere that popped off his black tuxedo and complimented his light-blue floral tie.
Two large floral arrangements accompanied the couple on the floor as they exchanged vows at the church. Post ceremony, guests were welcomed into a cocktail hour space at the family’s home with floral arrangements at the gated entrance and floating lazily in the pool. The nearby bar was topped with a lush white arrangement with touches of blue and hanging amaranthus greenery that draped over the greenery bar front. For Blakley and Kristian’s three-tier white wedding cake, we added fresh playa blanca rose blooms to the top and delicate touches of babies breath on the tiers with greenery and candles at the base.
A combination of round and long farmhouse tables were set under the tent lit by romantic candle glow and string lighting. Farmhouse tables were lined down the middle with blue taper candles in clear holders, pillar candles, votives, bud vases and simple flower frog arrangements to give a relaxed garden feel to the evening. Round tables were adorned with either a bud vase grouping filled with delicate blooms paired with a variety of candles or a beautiful white floral arrangement in an antique gold compote bowl with pops of blue delphinium and candles. Each table had complimenting gold accents with framed table numbers and gold chargers at each place setting to complete the look.
It was a joy to design for Blakely and Kristian’s intimate backyard wedding and are looking forward to working for them a second time as they celebrate with a bigger bash later in the year. Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Gallivan and keep a lookout for more to come in September from this wonderful couple!
