Danielle & Zach | Rustic Orange + Blue Fall Harvest Wedding at Haven on the Farm in Peoria, IL.

The epitome of a midwest fall wedding! Faith, family and agriculture were front and center as Danielle and Zach celebrated the beginning of their forever. This harvest themed event was true to the couple as both the bride and groom grew up on grain farms and work in the agriculture industry. The couple’s love of the University of Illinois was also present with tasteful touches of orange and blue throughout the ceremony and reception. For Danielle, we designed a relaxed shaped bouquet filled with shades of orange and blue flowers featuring nina roses, dahlias, gerbera daisies, anemone, ranunculus, and delphinium with accents of textural blue thistle, burgundy amaranthus, and hypericum berries with grevillea, huckleberry, and ruscus greenery. As a personal touch, we also added dried wheat and soybean pods provided by the groom. Bridesmaids held smaller, similar versions of the bridal bouquet with added pops of purple statice, celocia, and magnolia leaf to compliment royal blue dresses with orange plaid shawls. For Zach, we custom designed a coordinating floral pocket boutonniere to match his bride while groomsmen adorned traditional style orange ranunculus boutonnieres on blue suits with orange vests to match the colorful maids.

A beautiful, small town catholic church in Tampico, Illinois set the stage for Danielle and Zach’s harvest style wedding ceremony. For the altar, we created a large arrangement to set on the floor filled with fall blooms of nina roses, toffee roses, orange gerbera daisies, blue delphinium, maroon upright amaranth, blue thistle, dried and foraged grasses, and brightly colored birch leaves accompanied with orange mums and a variety of colored and textured pumpkins to frame the floral centerpiece. After the couple exchanged vows, the altar décor was transported to the beautiful Haven on the Farm reception space to be enjoyed for the entire evening.

The harvest theme full of pumpkins, tractors, corn and soybeans welcomed guests into Haven on the Farm’s rustic barn style wedding reception space. At the forefront of the barn, a small sized farmhouse table served as a romantic sweetheart table for the newlyweds topped with a large draping floral spray, mini pumpkins, and votive candles over a navy blue runner hanging over the edges with the ceremony floral arrangement on the floor in front. The rest of the reception space was filled with a combination of round and long farmhouse tables with navy and orange cloth runners with three alternating centerpiece styles. Our favorite centerpiece design by far was the unique pumpkin pieces each with a coordinating floral arrangement on top.We had so much fun creating something we have never done before and loved how they turned out. We paired the floral pumpkins with clear glass votives and clusters of mini pumpkins with touches of greenery and grasses to run the length of the long farmhouse style tables. The second style featured classic bud vase floral arrangements either clustered together in the center of round tables or spread down the length of the farmhouse tables. When paired with dreamy votives, these simple pieces can make a statement. For the final design, we added small pumpkins, magnolia leaves, greenery and soybean pods to the edge of rustic wooden lanterns with romantic candle-light glow.

Danielle and Zach’s wedding was the model example showing how a florist can design with personalized and meaningful flower choices to perfectly fit your wedding celebration. Colorful, textural, fall color palettes are some of my very favorite styles to design. We just can’t help coming back to photos from this wonderful day!
