One of the joys of only booking one wedding per weekend at J.Blu Design is getting to know each couple’s personal style to design something truly special to them. I can honestly say, we have never done a wedding quite like Patricia and Matt’s fall wedding at Argyle Lake State Park. Patricia had a unique vision of a whimsical and ethereal forest that we were able to emulate with jewel toned blooms, foraged fall branches, and some creative design.
The brides hand-tied bouquet featured bright red roses, deep burgundy ranunculus, and peachy pink spray roses accented with textural hypericum berry, kangaroo paw, hanging amaranthus, astilbe, limonion and stock with pops of blue thistle and delphinium against the rich green ruscus and grevillea. Matt’s traditional style boutonniere resembled a miniature version of the bridal bouquet pinned on his navy and black suit. Maids’ wispy bouquets were kept simple and airy using a base of baby’s breath with added stems of limonium, blue thistle, and Israeli ruscus to compliment differing shades of blue and green gowns.
Entering into the reception tent was like walking into an enchanted forest. Light blue satin linens covered the tables and were topped with antique glowing lanterns paired with twinkling votive candles and a petite floral arrangement in fish bowl vases on moss covered tree rings. However, the focal point was the large tree centerpieces created from cut branches with green, yellow, and red fall leaves carefully arranged in tall glass cylinders accented with whimsical hanging tea lights that engulfed the space with forest charm. The added details of hanging stars and string lights made for a truly magical atmosphere that won’t be easily forgotten,
While the initial vision of creating trees as centerpieces seemed daunting at first, we never shy away from a challenge and are dedicated to making wedding design dreams a reality. Patricia and Matt’s distinctive style brought out some fun creative expression and we were so honored to be trusted to design for their special day. We hope the newlyweds enjoyed their magical night under the stars as much as we enjoyed working on it. Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs.!
